Full design service with project management assistance & advice provided to the client through to completion. SRM were commissioned by the clients in January 2011 to design & obtain planning consent for a new build detached farmhouse adjacent to the clients farm & riding stables. SRM worked with Barden Planning Consultants & consent was granted in August 2012. Full detailed construction drawings were then provided by SRM & construction works were commenced in Nov 2013. The works were carried out in several phases with project management, contract administration & design support to the client were provided by SRM on an as required basis throughout the construction phase of the project.

The building was designed & constructed using a Low Energy SIPS Timber Frame by Eden Insulation, Appleby, Cumbria (   The design incorporates Photovoltaics, MHVR system (Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery), Aluminium/timber Composite low energy windows, & a double fronted wood burning stove was installed facing the living room as well as the open plan dining kitchen area. The property achieved an Air Permeability Rate of 3.46 when pressure tested. Works were completed May 2015. The client is monitoring  the fuel usage & it is expected that running costs will be extremely low.
